Excitedly Anxious!

I can't wait to get my Pentax K10D. Two weeks more at the longest... I'm hoping. Today Jeremy and I drove around town scoping out places for me to begin shooting when I have the time, and the camera. There are some really great structures and colors down town. I'm delighted!! Can't wait to start shooting and posting! :-D

My Sweet Babbler

Nayeli is pretty much a pro at walking and climbing the stairs now. She can walk with shoes on through grass and on cement, as well as carpet. She has a hard time using sippy cups. She is a little bit of an instigater and likes to try to get Austin into trouble. They have fun pretend fighting with each other. And I'm okay with that as long as they don't get rough. Since we came back from California Nayeli seems to be babbling non-stop. Sometimes it sounds like she is really saying complete sentences. It's precious and fun to translate. Some funny things come out sometimes. ;-)

I forgot, she's also getting pretty good at using silverware to eat. :-D

Hike to Indian Rock (4/14/2009)

A week ago it was a beatifully sunny day and Jeremy and I decided to take the kids on the trail near our house to Indian Rock. We stuck Nayeli in the baby backpack and Austin had to make his own way. We started off with a little bit of a prediciment, the ditch we had to cross before climbing up the hill to the trail was full of rain water from two days earlier. Luckily, this time, we just needed to walk a little further into our back yard to find a place in the ditch where the water stopped. We all still needed to jump so our shoes did not get full of muck.

Austin did a great job keeping up with Jeremy's pace. I seemed to be the one that lagged behind. Instead of climbing up the huge rock/hill thing by our house we took another path around it. Some of the branches and bushes were a little prickly, but we got by alright. Then we were to Indian Rock. We walked up the road that people can take to the top for a short distance and then we trecked off the path so we were walking parallel with the river. Austin liked seeing the little waterfalls in the river where there were dams. I was a little jittery because we were sorta high up. Heights still aren't my favorite thing.

Finally we turned and were completely off any kind of path or worn down area and we trekked through some tall, itchy grass. Austin fell behind just a little in there, but before we knew it we were out.

We then walked down a hill and around a little woods and pond. Jeremy was eating some honey suckle and shared with Nayeli. Austin and I decided to pass on that.

Just after we came out of the wooded area Jeremy lifted a couple of rocks to hunt for snakes. We found some rolly pollies, centipedes and cockroaches, but no snakes.

Then we marched across the soccer field while Austin stayed up on the path, quite some distance ahead of us. After that we were home. It was a fun little trip!

Pictures Are A Bad Word

The other day I had asked Austin to grab my camera so I could take a few pictures of his sissy. He put his hand up and said, "no mama, no, don't say that word. that's bad!" I asked why it was bad to take pictures and he said, "no mama, don't say that word, that's a bad word." I laughed and said, "pictures is a bad word?" He replied, "No mama, don't say it, that's not good listening, don't say it." So then I just asked if he'd bring my camera and promised not to take anything of him. Gosh he's cute!!

We met a new neighbor kid yesterday. His name is Ryan and he lives about four doors away from us in a small apartment complex. He's three years old and very energetic. Austin had so much fun running around with him. They were throwing weeds at eachother and having the best time doing it. I'm glad we found another boy close by that he can run around with. :-D

New Job

Most of you probably know that I have a job working at Sears Portrait Studio. I have been training for the past week and it has been so much fun. I'm super excited about what I do, and so far I love it!

I have three new co-workers... New as in they're just starting too. One of them took some pictures of Nayeli for practice. Here are some of my favorites.

I also got to practice taking pictures too. I was suppose to practice with Austin but he wasn't very into it, so Jeremy stepped in. I got a couple of Nayeli too. Here are the pictures I took.

Since then I have done three other shoots where I sold at least $150 in packages each time. My only other practice shoot was of my neighbor and her daughter. I would love to post those, but I don't have access to the pics. (not legal access anyway)

My manager took a family picture of us. We weren't really planning on a family pic but it fits because this is how we all look most of the time anyway. ;-)

Hunting for Eggs

Happy Easter everyone! Yesterday the kids and I went to the YMCA for some Easter fun. We were with our neighbors Michelle and Grace.

We got to play games inside for a little bit, decorate our "baskets," and Nayeli got a pair of bunny ears.

Then we went outside for an Easter egg hunt. Austin did a good job finding eggs all on his own and he had a lot of fun. Nayeli even found an egg for herself.

This morning we went to the park that's just beyond our backyard and both the kids got to hunt for eggs again.

There were soooo many kids at the hunt. It was great!

Austin got a lot of eggs and has probably had way too much candy today. :-S
