Ohhh Boys!!

Linking up with Greg's General Store today for Thankful Thursday!

Thankful Thursday
I am thankful for my oh-so-amazing children,
the fact that all of our needs and many of our wants are met,
a warm place to call home in this cold season,
a flexible job that allows me to be available as a parent,
friends who are like family,
family who are like friends,
social networking, which makes it easier to keep in touch with those I love who are far away,
and so much more!
 Austin @10 months/Kheaven @14 months
Things are going well in our home this autumn.

Austin's got some standardized testing coming up.  Last time he did great in everything but phonemic awareness.  His education specialist is going to start working with him once a week to make sure he doesn't get behind in that area.

Kheaven continues to be very vocal.  The other day he said robot, over and over again.  He's always amazing!  There are some issues with his infant child development team right now and we are praying for all of them.  It's a mix between them or their family members being VERY sick...  and it's heartbreaking because they all have the sweetest hearts.  Until we can see them again we are working on communicating using words and signing and also working on standing, cruising and guided walking.  :)

Nayeli is my quiet learner.  She observes everything around her and then one day she shows me she knows it.  She has started drawing more recently and is very good at circles and faces.  It's beautiful and she gets so excited when she makes a picture.  She's been getting into some things lately and continues to color in books and rip pages, but we're working on it!

I have been working more over the past month and it's great.  I work at night while the kids are sleeping and get home on time to get a little sleep before they wake up.  J is still helping watch them when I work, and when he's not available my close friend/Kheaven's God-mother watches them.

Austin's birthday/Thanksgiving was wonderful!  We enjoyed the company of each other and made new friends as well.  We visited with one of my co-worker's family for the holiday and they were very kind and welcoming.  There were plenty of kids there for them to play and interact with and they loved it!
Thank you to all of our family and friends who sent a gift!

AND, this was us on Thanksgiving/Austin's 6th birthday!
:)
♥My heart is full.♥
What are you thankful for this Thursday?!

Ahh! I love stages of development!

Kheaven has been super spongy the past week or so.  Actually, it's been the past three weeks, because it seems like I noticed it the day after Halloween.  :-D

Tonight for instance, he has
said/sang Amen after prayer with the kids,
sang la, la, la,
sounded like he tried to say birthday, came out "berrrrduh"
said, "yeah" when I was reading the book, "I Can, Can You?"
let go of me to stand on his own, but then grabbed back on quickly...
moved between pieces of furniture while cruising,
made "gassy" noises using his tongue while crawling into the bathroom,
picked up a fake flower, held it over his head and said "umbrella" - When I said, "No, that's a flower," he held it to his nose and sniffed it!  :)

There were a few other things he did that were just...  amazing...  :)
All my littles are amazing.
Sometimes I think I'm just going to burst with love and appreciation of them!

Austi is six today...  I keep thinking about how absolutely adorable Nayeli is going to look in the dress my Grammy made for her.  I'll post pix of that.  :)

Happy Thanksgiving on time!

And He Sits!

Kheaven is, without a doubt, an amazing baby.
He rolled over at two and half weeks old, said "I love you," at three months, started "army" crawling at seven/eight months old...  He's even been able to hold himself at a standing position while holding on to furniture for a month or so, but he hasn't been able to sit.

I don't mind it horribly.  I love holding my sweet, silly little baby man.  Today though, after our physical therapist cut her appointment short he decided it was time!

~The way it happened was...  Today was Miracle Treat Day, a day where if you buy a Blizzard from DQ at least one dollar of the proceeds goes to the Children's Miracle Network.  Knowing that we planned, in advance, a DQ run.
After Kheaven's appointment I rushed off for our tasty treat!  Upon my return I split a Blizzard between Austin and Nayeli and began to eat my own.  I realized I should take a picture of the kids, for our own memories and also to post my cuties enjoying their ice cream on the Children's Miracle Network facebook page.  So I got out my camera and snapped a couple pix of the kiddos.
I saw Kheaven on the floor and thought, well, he's cute, might as well get a pic of him too.  I began shooting.  I got down on my stomach to get a couple of different angles...  after my shooting spree I removed the camera from in front of my face and looked at Kheaven...
He was sitting!  And I got it all on camera!  :-)  My jaw dropped and I looked at Jeremey and stuttered, "Uh... uh..."  He asked what and I proceeded to tell him that unbeknownst to me our baby just sat up for the first time from a crawl while I was looking at and taking pictures of him.  :-)

He's done it again already today and I am SO proud.  I called the physical therapist and let her know.  She was proud too.  :-)  I guess all he needed was her showing him the right way to go from crawling to sitting.  :-)

*Happy Sigh*

Okay, there's my happy/proud mommy rant.  I'm sure there will be more.  Take care everyone!

Thankful Thursday and 4 of 52!

Thankful Thursday at Truth 4 the Journey

Today is the first time I'm participating in Sonya's Thankful Thursday over at Truth for the Journey

I am thankful for SO much, but right now the following is what is specifically on my mind!

1.  I am thankful that Kheaven's cirumcision went well today.  I was so nervous about it and I am so grateful it is done and there were no complications.

2.  I am thankful for my family doctor.  I have been reading the book "Gifts" for the past couple of weeks, and their are so many families who find out about their child's diagnosis of down syndrome in a less than desirable manner.  I am very lucky to have the doctor I do.  He was very compassionate while telling me of Kheaven's DS markers, and he was very positive when the outcome came back that K does have DS.  I feel so very blessed because of the way he has reacted to it all, especially reading about how a lot of others were treated when they found out.

3.  I am sooo thankful that I have family coming to visit tomorrow!  and yet more family coming in a little over a week.  :-D

4.  I am thankful for all the new friends I have been making...  online, offline, everywhere!  I am thankful there are people in the world I can relate to on all sorts of different levels.  I am thankful I have the chance to meet and interact with these people.  This week I am especially grateful for the friends I have made who are specifically my age and who are in similar places in their lives.  :-D  Yay!

5.  I am always thankful for the life I have with my children.  The other night while Kheaven was asleep I had the chance to wrap my arms around both Austin and Nayeli as we cuddled and watched the Santa Clause.  I am thankful that my children are so cuddly and lovey, and I am thankful they have a long enough attention span to let me hold them for almost an hour.  ;-)  They're all so wonderful!

Forever In Blue Jeans

One more thing I'm thankful for...

It's really too bad that it's sooo apparent how much I'm lacking sleep.
Actually, it's how much I look like I'm lacking sleep.
Kheaven's only been waking up twice a night for the past few days!
Hallelujah!

Thankful Thursday! Autumn is Here... Almost.

I would like to start Thankful Thursday!

**Thankful Thursday is a day to blog about something you are thankful for, or to recall a blessing in your life! There is so much negativity in the world and I think everyday would be better if we could remember more of the good, and see that others experience it as well. :-D Please blog about your thanks/blessing and then link to McLinky.**  This is my first try using McLinky and I know I don't have a bunch of followers, but as time goes on hopefully more people will be able to share what they are thankful for here.

Yesterday the kids and I went on a walk. Normally this would be a ten minute walk, but Jeremy left for work with the umbrella stroller in the car, and I wasn't about to lug out the double stroller with how pregnant I am right now, so it turned into an hour and a half walk!

I wasn't sure how Nayeli would do as she is only a year and a half, but to my surprise it was a wonderful little adventure!
The kids noticed a few leaves on the ground and decided to take a break from walking and just sit and play.
I was so grateful for the time out of the house, the overcast sky, (it's hot at 38 weeks pregnant!) and my beautiful little children. Their curiousity amazes me. When we moved on from the leaves we found some crazy little bugs and I think the children enjoyed those as much as the leaves.
I enjoyed it all! Thank God for the changing of the seasons, adventurous little souls, and clouds. :-) Go figure. ;-)
It's YOUR turn!  Please join in for Thankful Thursday!  Let the world know what good is in your life!
Linking through McLinkey will close at 7:20pm tomorrow Pacific time.
And when you blog about it please don't forget to mention where you first heard about it, so others too can share their stories through McLinkey here.  :-)
